It’s happening! Distribution for Scryptid Games’ first Kickstarter project, Psychic Trash Detectives, is scheduled for September, and that means it’s time to party!
Join us September 9-10, 2023, for a weekend of book launch events in Baltimore, Maryland.
On Saturday, September 9, at 6pm, we will kick off the weekend with a reading of poems and fiction inspired by the game at Bird in Hand. RSVP for this event here.
And on Sunday, September 10, at 6pm, we will host a Psychic Trash Detectives game-a-thon at No Land Beyond, Baltimore’s first-ever board game bar, game shop, and event venue. RSVP for this event here.
Thanks to our Kickstarter backers, we were able to raise enough funding to commission nine writers to create original pieces inspired by the lore and themes of Psychic Trash Detectives. An anthology of their work, entitled Junked Histories, is incorporated into the game book. We are thrilled to bring this weird and wonderful writing to Bird in Hand, a rad indie bookstore in Charles Village.
Featured readers will include jason b. crawford, Deidre Delpino Dykes, Nino McQuown, Nat Mesnard, Tonee Moll, Tyler Vile, and Dustin Patrick Winter.
After the reading, you can get a copy of the Psychic Trash Detectives game book, color your own Psychic Trash Detectives characters on coloring pages by brilliant Baltimore illustrator A.V. Eerie, and create your own original erasure poems using recycled materials.
Then, on September 10, you can bring your Psychic Trash Detectives game book to No Land Beyond (or buy one there!) and join a gaming table to play a Psychic Trash Detectives one-shot! We’re hoping to get a number of groups playing at the same time. You can bring your own gaming group or join an open table and make some new friends. If you’re new to gaming, no worries! Scryptid Games folks will be there to support newbies in navigating their first game. No Land Beyond also sells really yummy pizza, cocktails, and NA drinks, so plan to make a night of it.
Come out and celebrate with us!
